ARP uses a premium-grade 8740 alloy heat treated for a tensile strength of 200,000 psi. Using a centerless grounding procedure with a series of specific, slight cuts, each stud is nearly perfectly concentric. Each stud is then thread rolled after a heat treat for a strength upgrade of about 10 times better fatigue strength than so many other studs on the market that are threaded before the heat treat. Each kit comes with 8740 chromoly steel 12pt nuts, parallel ground washers and ARP’s Ultra-Torque fastener assembly lubricant.
